This gutter is detached. Gutters are designed to manage the water that flows from the roof. The water is drained through the downspout and away from the house.  The gutter system prevents water damage to the roof and siding.  

This hole in the deck plank is due to rotted wood that was painted over instead of replaced. There are several occurrences of this defect throughout the deck.  

This window casing has rotted wood due to water. eventually water will start to enter the house. through this window. 

This wood deck is presently unsafe. The top and bottom cords of the railing system  are  defective. Wood rot has been noted throughout the deck. 

The starter course was improperly installed on this roof. The starter course is the first row of shingles on a roof. The starter course is designed to keep the shingles from blowing off along the eaves or rakes (edges) of the roof.  Also, it assists with water flow from the roof.
